SACC RAND CAT CLUB SHOW 18 APRIL 2009
Feeling sick of the flu and not expecting much......our SACC Judges blew me out of the water at the SACC Rand Cat Club Show:
Our little Oriental Song of Solomon was awarded BIS Siamese/Oriental Kitten, Kitten of the Day and Runner-up Cat of the Day!

BUT the CHERRY ON TOP, the moment that made my heart STOP and my breathing cease, the very same judges that undertook the looooong journey of the development of the Peterbald in South Africa with me since 2006.....awarded She's-A-Phantom: BIS Foreign Adult, Adult of the Day and THEN.........CAT OF THE DAY!!!

How absolutely wonderful for this very new breed, our very new breeding programme in South Africa!!
The support, the guidance and the faith of our judges is undescribable, their forward-thinkingness and willingness to understand and learn about this breed with me is absolutely amazing.
And now.....hard hard hard work on the journey ahead to breed the foundation Peterbalds that is uniquely similar to Phantom.

PCS Show, KwaZulu-Natal, 12 April 2009
The Provincial Cat Society show held in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, 12 April 2009
Supporting the PCS by putting two Peterbalds on show, we had quite a good weekend! Heartfelt thanks has to go to our SACC judges Dina Freitas and especially Ingrid de Wet. A huge thanks also to Sharon Kelly (a CFSA judges who have never met/judged a Peterbald before) who was so willing to learn about the Peterbalds and also Karen Pepler who 'crash-coursed' Sharon about this wonderful cats.
LaMASKA Ginga Ninja, our homebred red Peterbald brush coat girl, championed! And LaMASKA She's-a-Phantom, our homebred chocolate tabbypoint Peterbald velour coat girl was awarded all her Grand certificates. She is only one certificate away from Grand Champion status. Phantom was nominated and placed THIRD Best In Show Foreign Neuter, beaten by two KZN cats, a British Blue and a Burmese male, who incidentally was also the Cat of the Day.
SpCh LaMASKA Abarai of Kioko NQ (red Oriental Entire Male) in the running for COTY 2009, was awarded Best Siamese/Oriental Adult. Well done Nicole for looking after your studboy this well!

SACC Kitten Show, Coca-Cola Dome, Johannesburg (29 March 2009)
The South African Cat Council hosted the 2009 Kitten Show on 29 March 2009 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg. Kittens of almost all the pedigree breeds in South Africa were put on show to be judged in two rings. Only 40 of the pedigree kittens qualify to go through to the second and final ring for judging. Of this 40 only 12 qualifies for Best In Show from 1-12.
It is with huge thanks to the Judges that we can announce that our young girl LaMASKA Song of Solomon, a Black Smoke Calico Bicolor Oriental, was placed 5th in the Top 12 Best in Show.
SingSing, as she is fondly known, has a lineage of proud cats behind her:
Her father, Kioko Electric Storm of LaMASKA, her grandfather SpCh LaMASKA Abaraij Renji of Kioko and her Great-Grandfather SpCha LaMASKA Vogue RSA Krugerrand, our well-loved and sorely missed stud of superb type. Storms' dams' line has the truly superb lines of Janguar Rave Review of Mistbesque.
SingSing's dam is Ch Mistbesque Cassandra of LaMASKA, an awesome girl who in turn has many great names in her pedigree.
Thanks to Theresa Fouche for the stunning pictures of our girl!
